BLACK-WINGED KITE, ALONG ROAD FROM TAGUS ESTUARY,LISBON,PORTUGAL, 9/29/2019

   We can ID this raptor as a Black-winged Kite as follows:
  • White underparts and head
  • Grey upperparts and wings
  • Face has owl-like appearance
  • Black eyeline, shoulders and wing tips
  • Orange feet
   The Black-winged Kite is also called the Black-shouldered Kite.  This is a different species than the Black-shouldered Kite of Australia.
   The Black-winged Kite is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 936.
