WHITE-CROWNED PIGEON, BREWER PARK,SOUTH MIAMI,FLORIDA, 3/29/2021
We can ID this pigeon as a White-crowned Pigeon as follows:
- Dark gray with contrasting white cap
- White iris
- Scalloping on nape
- Short, reddish bill with pale tip
- Pink legs
The White-crowned Pigeon is a resident of the islands and coastlines in the Caribbean, with its northern limit of range reaching southern Florida. It feeds almost entirely on fruits of hardwood trees.
