We can ID this kingfisher as a male American Pygmy Kingfisher as follows:
- Very small size. This is the smallest kingfisher.
- Oily green upperparts with white spots
- Yellow-orange collar
The American Pygmy Kingfisher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 884.
