We can ID this quail as a Crested Bobwhite as follows:
- Chunky and short tailed with crest
- Whitish throat
- Heavily spotted underparts
- Upperparts are mottled black, brown and gray
- Rufous face with whitish markings
The Crested Bobwhite is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 879.
