PURPLE-THROATED CARIB, COROSSOL, GUADALOUPE NATIONAL PARK, PETIT-BOURG, GUADALOUPE, OVERSEAS DEPARTMENT OF FRANCE, 3/13/2024

   We can ID this hummingbird as a Purple-throated Carib as follows:
  • Head, nape, back and what we can of the belly are black.
  • Wings are iridescent turquoise.
  • Bill is long and very down curved.
  • Unfortunately we cannot see its throat.
   The Purple-throated Carib is a Lesser Antillean endemic known to most islands.

  The Purple-throated Carib is a new species to our eBird Photographic Life List.  Our eBird Life List now stands at 1,123.
