BRIDLED QUAIL-DOVE CROSSING A ROAD, COROSSOL, GUADALOUPE NATIONAL PARK, PETIT-BOURG, GUADALOUPE, OVERSEAS DEPARTMENT OF FRANCE, 3/13/2023

   We can ID this bird as a Bridled Quail-dove as follows:
  • Dark grayish head with reddish eyes
  • Grayish-brown wings
  • Thick, white and horizontal streak underneath the eye
  • Bill is two toned: pink at the base and cream at the tip
  • You can see iridescent green, blue and purple on the nape, neck-sides and upper back.  This iridescence only shows in good light.
   This quail-dove is found on most islands in the northern part of the Lesser Antilles, as far south as St Lucia.

   The Bridled Quail-dove is a new species to eBird Photographic Life List.  Our eBird Life List now stands at 1,122.
