BIRD PHOTOS FROM MY ARCHIVES: BANDED CANADA GOOSE

On the way driving from Naples, FL to Toronto, ON, Sharon and I stopped at Cover Lake State Park in Caryville, TN.  This park is right off Exit 134 of I-75, about 30 miles north of Knoxville, TN.  It is listed as a birding hotspot in the area.
At the park we sighted a banded Canada Goose.  The goose had a orange band around its neck with the characters A7R4 in white.  We learned later that this is an auxiliary band.
We send an email to the USGS Bird Banding Laboratory about the sighting.  The Bird Banding Lab is responsible in the US for keeping track of banded birds.  A few days later we received a reply indicating they were trying to trace the auxiliary band. We are awaiting further info.
Here are photos of the banded Canada Goose.
