UNUSUAL LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE WITH BLACK/GRAY STREAKS RUNNING VERTICALLY DOWN ITS CHEST & BELLY, EAGLE LAKES COMMUNITY PARK, NAPLES, FLORIDA, 5/29/2026
Has anyone ever seen and/or photographed a Loggerhead Shrike or even a Northern Shrike like this. I believe it's probably a Loggerhead Shrike, but can't explain the black streaks. If anyone has seen a Shrike like this let me know, especially if you can explain it.
I put the question of the bird's black/gray streaks on the Reddit's r/whatsthisbird and believe I got the answer: the shrike was wet and thus you could see the base of some of the feathers on its chest and belly, which are dark gray.
