LAUGHING GULLS IN BREEDING & NONBREEDING PLUMAGE, MERRITT ISLAND NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE, TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA, 3/6/2025

Laughing Gulls usually molt from nonbreeding plumage to breeding plumage in March.   The Laughing Gulls in the second and third photos with a full black hood are in breeding plumage.  The Laughing Gulls in the first photo are still in nonbreeding plumage.   However, the molting on the right gull is more advanced then the molting on the left gull.
