NONBREEDING ROYAL TERNS & A ROYAL TERN IN BREEDING PLUMAGE, SUGDEN REGIONAL PARK, NAPLES, FLORIDA, 2/27/2025

   The first photo shows three Royal Terns in nonbreeding plumage, i.e. they all have white foreheads.   The second photo shows a Royal Tern in breeding plumage, i.e it has no white forehead and the black cap covers the entire crown, including the forehead.  This is the time of year when Royal Terns plumage molts from nonbreeding to breeding plumage.
