POLYNESIAN TRILLER, NABILA BEACH AREA, VITI LEVU, FIJI

   We can ID this bird as the Viti Levu subspecies of the Polynesian Triller by its brownish-grey upperparts,  white underparts with dark bars, black cap, broad white supercilium and black line through eye to nape.
   The Polynesian Triller is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 602.



SPOTTED DOVE, NABILA BEACH AREA, VITI LEVU, FIJI

   Even though this dove was in the shadows and colors are hard to discern, we can ID this dove as a Spotted Dove  by its white-spotted black patch on the nape, generally greyish-brownish color, long tail and brown wing feathers with grey edges.
   The Spotted Dove is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 601.

MOLTING PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, MOMI BAY, VITI LEVU, FIJI

   We can ID this plover as a Pacific Golden-Plover molting from breeding to nonbreeding plumage by its speckled black and yellow crown, upperparts and chest; partially white underparts; black face with a white border and forked tail.
   The Pacific Golden-Plover is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 600.







NONBREEDING GREAT CRESTED TERN, MOMI BAY, VITI LEVU, FIJI

    We can ID this tern as a nonbreeding  Great Crested Tern by its large size,  long yellow bill, short black legs, black crest that is noticeably shaggy at its rear, white forehead, white neck, white crown with dark spotting and grey back and upperwing.
   The Great Crested Tern is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 599.





WHITE-FACED HERON IN FLIGHT, ON TREE & IN WATER, MOMI BAY & MOMI RD., VITI LEVU, FIJI

   We can ID this heron as a White-faced Heron by its medium size; mostly blue-gray color; white forehead, chin and upper throat; mixed blue-grey and white crown; black lores and black bill.
   The White-faced Heron is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 598.
