MOLTING OF JUVENILE LITTLE BLUE HERONS TO ADULTS, BLUE RIVER, CARONI NATIONAL PARK, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
In these two photos you can see the juvenile Little Blue Herons starting to molt from the white of the juvenile to the blue of the adult.

The last photo is a closeup of some mangrove trees. It was amazing how high they grew; seemingly much higher than in southern Florida.
RED-CAPPED CARDINAL, CARONI NATIONAL PARK, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO
We can ID this bird as a Red-capped Cardinal by its scarlet crown and throat, broad black patch from lores to ear curving downward, white sides of neck and rest of underparts, black upperparts, black upper mandible and lower mandible whitish at base.
The Red-capped Cardinal isa new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 574.
