MALE BLUE-CHINNED SAPPHIRE, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this hummingbird as a male Blue-chinned Sapphire by its straight bill with a reddish lower mandible, green upperparts  (with no bronze or copper) and bluish upper throat and breast. 
   The Blue-chinned Sapphire is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 576.

   This scorpion was on our friend Dan's shirt on the back.  One of the guides saw it and brushed it off.

   The Scarlet Ibis in the first photo is a breeding adult and the one in the second photo is a juvenile Scarlet Ibis.

   In this photo you can really see the difference between a juvenile Scarlet Ibis and  a breeding adult. The breeding adult is on the right and the juvenile on the left.
