VIEWS FROM MANZANILLA BEACH, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO





GRAYISH SALTATOR, ROAD TO NARIVA SWAMP, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a Grayish Saltator by its grey upperparts, buffy underparts, white superciliary streak, whitish chin bordered by a short black line on each side and heavy bill.
   The Grayish Saltator is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 554.




MALE RED-BREASTED BLACKBIRD, ROAD TO NARIVA SWAMP, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a male Red-breasted Blackbird by its black color with the throat, breast  and upper abdomen bright red. 
   The Red-breasted Blackbird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 553.



WHITE-WINGED SWALLOW, ROAD TO NARIVA SWAMP, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a White-winged Swallow by its small size, very small bill, blackish head (with a tinge of blue), what we can see of the upperparts black and white underparts.
   The White-winged Swallow is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 552. 



SAVANNA HAWK, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE & NEAR ATLANTIC COAST, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this raptor as a Savanna Hawk by its generally rufous color, finely barred with black below; black tail with white bands and tip and yellow legs. 
   The Savanna Hawk is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 551.



BARRED ANTSHRIKES, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   The first two photos show a male Barred Antshrike and the last photo a female.  We can ID the male bird in the first two photos as a Barred Antshrike by its black color barred all over with white and white crest tipped with black.  The female  has chestnut brown upperparts, buffy underparts and chestnut crest.
   The Barred Antshrike is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 550.
