RED-CAPPED LARK, WHEAT FIELDS, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
We can ID this bird as a Red-Capped Lark by its rufous cap and epaulets on the sides of breasts, whitish underparts and brownish upperparts.
The Red-Capped Lark is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 508.

BLUE CRANE, WHEAT FIELDS, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
The Blue Crane is the national bird of South Africa. We can ID this crane as a Blue Crane by its large size, long legs, blue-grey color, paler head and long trailing "tail" (formed by elongated inner secondaries and tertials).
The Blue Crane is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 507.
