EURASIAN HOOPOE (AFRICAN) OR AFRICAN HOOPOE, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

   Even though this photo is not great, we can ID this bird as an Eurasian Hoopoe (African) or African Hoopoe by its combination of pinkish-brown body and black-and-white wings and tail; long downturned bill and crest with black on it.
   The Eurasian Hoopoe (African) or African Hoopoe is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 460.



SECRETARYBIRD, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

      We can ID this large, beautiful bird as a Secretarybird by its large size, short hooked bill, red face, gray and black plumage and wispy nape plumes.
   The Secretarybird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 459.





FEMALE ARNOT'S CHAT, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bird as a female Arnot's Chat by its distinctive whitish gray throat and upper breast scaled with black and white shoulders.
   Arnot's Chat is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 458.

GOLDEN-BREASTED BUNTING, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bird as a Golden-breasted Bunting by its black-and-white striped head, yellow-orange breast and yellow throat.
   The Golden-breasted Bunting is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 457.


  


SWALLOW-TAILED BEE-EATER, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bee-eater as a Swallow-tailed Bee-eater by its forked blue tail ( in the photo you can only see part of the fork), yellow throat, downturned bill and green back.
   The Swallow-tailed Bee-eater is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 456.
