ELEPHANT BONES, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

During our bush walk we came across these Elephant bones.  Our guide Sam is holding the femur of the elephant.  He estimated that these bones were about 10 years old.  Notice that Sam is holding a rifle.  This is required of guides on Bush walks in case we come across any dangerous animals.

EATEN ELEPHANT DUNG, IVORY LODGE AREA, ZIMBABWE

This Elephant dung has probably been picked through for food by birds or other animals, since it is not in a solid lump.  Elephant dung is a good source of food for birds and other animals as it contains a high proportion of undigested food.
