WHITE-BACKED VULTURES, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this vulture as a White-backed Vulture by its overall dark-brown coloration, black bill contrasting with pale crown and hindneck and some white showing on the back.

THREE-BANDED PLOVER, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this plover as a Three-banded Plover by its double black breast band, red eye-ring and red base to bill.

   The Three-banded Plover is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 382.

KITTLITZ'S PLOVER BY ELEPHANT DUNG, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bird as Kittlitz's Plover by its cinnamon colored underparts and by the black line on the forehead that extends behind the eye onto the nape.  The pile to the left of the bird is elephant dung.  Some birds and other animals eat the undigested food contained in the elephant dung.

   Kittlitz's Plover is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 381.

CRESTED BARBET, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bird as a Crested Barbet by its orange-yellow face, black crest,

black back speckled with white and red rump.

   We can ID these large birds as Helmeted Guineafowl by their rotund body, greyish plumage, blue on face and crest.
