ADULT & JUVENILE DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, COLONEL SAMUEL SMTH PARK, TORONTO, ON

   The adult Double-crested Cormorant is on the left and the juvenile (1st Year) with the buffy breast is on the right.


JUVENILE GRAY CATBIRD, COLONEL SAMUEL SMITH PARK, TORONTO, ON

   We can ID this Gray Catbird as a juvenile by its not very dark crown and somewhat shaggy look.

PEKING DUCK, LAKE WILCOX PARK, RICHMOND HILL, ON

   This all white duck was with a group of Mallards.  It is a Peking Duck, American Peking Duck or Long Island Duck. It is a breed of domestic duck used primarily for egg and meat production, but also as pets.  It was bred from the Mallard in China.  It probably escaped from somewhere.
