BANDED FEMALE MAGNOLIA WARBLER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT BIRD OBSERVATORY, MILFORD, ON



GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   We can ID this bird as a Great Crested Flycatcher by its gray breast, bright yellow belly and rufous color on wings and tail.




MUD NESTS OF CLIFF SWALLOWS AT LIGHTHOUSE, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   The Cliff Swallows have migrated, but their mud nests are still at the lighthouse, hopefully to be reused next year.

1ST SUMMER MALE AMERICAN REDSTART, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD,

   We can ID this warbler as a 1st summer male American Restart as follows:
  • Yellow base of tail.
  • Gray head.
  • White eye-arcs.
  • Yellow on shoulder.
  • Yellowish base of secondaries.
  • The black splotches on the neck indicate it is a 1st summer male.
