RED-EYED VIREO, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   We can ID this bird as an adult Redeyed Vireo as follows:
  • Red-eye.
  • Head pattern: gray crown and white eyebrow stripe bordered above and below by blackish lines.
  • Bill has a small but noticeable hook at the tip of the upper mandible.
  • Greenish above and whitish below (with some yellow wash).
   The Red-eyed Vireo is a new species to our Life List, which now stands at 297.





BREEDING MALE SCARLET TANAGER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   Even though we never did get to see the front of the bird we can ID it as a breeding male Scarlet Tanager by its brilliant red color and black wings and tail.
