TURTLES AT BRIGHTON CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS, BRIGHTON, ON




LEAST SANDPIPER, BRIGHTON CONSTRUCTED WETLANDS, BRIGHTON, ON

   We can ID this sandpiper as a Least Sandpiper by its greenish-yellow legs; its relatively short black bill drooping slightly at the tip and its dark brown color.

   We can ID this scaup as a Lesser Scaup rather than a Greater Scaup by the shape of its head.  The peak of the head is at the back of the head rather toward the front in a Greater Scaup.
