RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, HUMBER PARK EAST, TORONTO, ON

   The first photo shows a male Red-breasted Merganser in breeding plumage.   A female Red-breasted Merganser is shown in the second photo.  In the third photo the male is on the left and the female on the right.




GADWALLS, HUMBER PARK EAST, TORONTO, ON

  The first photo is of  male Gadwall in breeding plumage.  In the second photo, the male Gadwall is on the the left and the female on the right.  The third photo is a closeup of the male Gadwall.  In the fourth photo, both the male and female Gadwalls are "dabblin" for food.

   In this pair of Mute Swans, the female is on the left and the male on the right in all four photos.  The male is larger than the female and also has a thicker neck.  You can see this difference between the male and female in the photos.
