TURKEY VULTURE ON ROAD, SNAKE ROAD, BROWARD COUNTY, FL



EASTERN MEADOWLARK, SNAKE RD., BROWARD COUNTY, FL

   Snake Rd. runs north from Exit 49 on the Alligator Alley section of I-75.  It's a great birding hotspot in the early morning after sunrise.
   We can ID this bird as an Eastern Meadowlark as follows:
  • Black breast band on bright yellow underside
  • Short tail with white sides (you can just make this out if you look closely)
  • Face pattern: yellow supercilium (eyebrow); dark eyeline; grayish cheek patch and mostly white malar
