We can ID this grebe as an immature Eared Grebe as follows:
- Black crown and hindneck and gray foreneck
- Pale orange-red eye
- Short, slightly upturned, light gray bill
- White cheek with gray and buff smudges
- Black flank with gray and white smudges
The Eared Grebe is a new species to our Photographic Life List. Our ebird Life List now stands at 1,080.
