RAINBOW BEE-EATER, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Rainbow Bee-eater by its long, slender, downcurved bill; golden crown; black stripe through red eye  (if you look closely you can see the red); orange-yellow throat with broad black band separating it from the light green breast and darker green upperparts. 
   The Rainbow Bee-eater is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 690.
