MALE PILEATED WOODPECKER, SIX MILE CYPRESS SLOUGH PRESERVE, FT. MYERS, FL

  Even though we can't see the enture bird, we can ID this as a male Pileated Woodpecker as follows:
  • Red crest
  • Yellow eyes
  • Red stripe from bill to throat, indicating it is a male
