SQUATTER PIGEON, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this pigeon as a Squatter Pigeon by its predominantly grey-brown color, conspicuous black and white stripes on face and throat and white flank.
   The Squatter Pigeon is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 693.





TREE MARTINS, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA


   We can ID this swallow as a Tree Martin by its iridescent blue back, back of neck and shoulders; brownish wings and tail; forked tail; whitish underparts and whitish rump.
   The Tree Martin is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 692.

BREEDING MALE RED-BACKED FAIRY-WREN, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a breeding male Red-backed Fairy-wren by its black head and body, brightly colored red back and brown wings.
   The Red-backed Fairy-wren is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 692.

RAINBOW BEE-EATER, GRANITE GORGE NATURE PARK, ATHERTON TABLELAND, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Rainbow Bee-eater by its long, slender, downcurved bill; golden crown; black stripe through red eye  (if you look closely you can see the red); orange-yellow throat with broad black band separating it from the light green breast and darker green upperparts. 
   The Rainbow Bee-eater is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 690.
