    A 1st winter male King Eider is on the left, a female Mallard in the middle and a male Mallard on the right.

   The ducks with white crowns and gray cheeks (e.g., duck in lower left of first photo) are male Long-tailed Ducks.  The ducks with black crowns (e.g., duck in upper left of second photo) are female Long-tailed Ducks.
