There are two Brown Pelicans: upper center and lower left. The rest of the birds are Magnificent Frigatebirds.

Male Magnificent Frigatebirds have a bright red throat patch, called a gular sac, that they inflate like a large balloon during breeding season to attract female mates. The breeding season for Magnificent Frigatebirds is generally from mid-December to early April, although it can extend longer. Magnificent Frigatebirds rarely nest on the Florida mainland. The Dry Tortugas National Park at the very end of the Florida keys hosts the only active, regular breeding and nesting colony of Magnificent Frigatebirds in the continental U.S.

I estimated that I saw at least 100 Magnificent Frigatebirds. Quite a sight! I arrived early and started seeing them at about 4:40 pm and they petered out at about 5:20, although there were some still arriving.
