MALE LESSER NIGHTHAWK ROOSTING AT REST, PLANETARIO CH'AN KA'AN DE COZUMEL, COZUMEL, MEXICO, 6/23/2025 - NEW SPECIES TO LIFE LIST
We can ID this nightjar as a male Lesser Nighthawk as follows:
- Small size
- Looks full bodied with small, flat head and tiny bill.
- Mottled gray, black and white plumage.
- White stripe along front of throat.
- White stripe (white in males and cream in females) along edge of wing.
The Lesser Nighthawk is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
