SEDGE WARBLER, KROMSLOOTPARK, HAVENDREFF, ALMERE, NETHERLANDS, 7/23/2024 -NEW LIFE SPECIES
We can ID this bird as a Sedge Warbler as follows:
- Distinct whitish supercilium that extends well beyond dark eye and contrasts with dark sides of crown
- Ear coverts have yellowish wash
- Whitish chin and throat
- Dark upper mandible of bill and yellowish-brown lower mandible with pinkish base (you can just make out the pink in first photo)
- Dark wings
- Yellowish-brown rump
- Gray underparts with some yellowish wash

- Overall brown plumage, with pale underparts
- Brown head with pale supercilium
- Long tail
