   This colony of Double-crested Cormorants was seen across the bay from the park

 

BONAPARTE'S GULL, COMMON TERN & RING-BILLED GULL, ROTARY SUNRISE LAKE PARK, WHITBY, ONTARIO, 7/9/2023

   In the first photo, the gull on the left is Bonarparte's Gull; the small tern in the middle is a Common Tern and the gull on the right is a Ring-billed Gull.  The second photo shows a close-up of the Bonarparte's Gull.

 

CASPIAN TERNS, COMMON TERNS & RING-BILLED GULLS, ROTARY SUNRISE LAKE PARK, WHITBY, ONTARIO, 7/9/2023

   The Common Terns are the smaller birds with black crown and orange-red bills.  The Caspian Terns are the large birds with black crowns and black legs.  The other large birds with ringed bills are Ring-billed Gulls.
