MOLTING LONG-TAILED DUCKS, COLONEL SAMUEL SMITH PARK,TORONTO, 4/18/2020

   The Long-tailed Ducks in these photos are in various stages of molting from winter plumage to spring plumage.  This generally occurs in the April to May months.  The first three photos are of a molting male.   The 4th and 5th photos show a molting female Long-tailed duck.

    The first photo shows a male Bufflehead in breeding plumage.  The second photo shows either a female Bufflehead or a 1st winter male.
