PLAIN-BREASTED GROUND-DOVES (COLUMBINA MINUTA), JUAN HOMBRON RD AREA,EL CHIRU,COCLE PROVINCE,PANAMA, 5/24/2019
We can ID this Dove as a Plain-breasted Ground-Dove as follows:
- Gray-brown back. This distinguishes it from the similar Ruddy Ground-Dove, which has a bright rufous back.
- Grayish crown and nape
- Lacks scaled appearance of similar Common Ground Dove
- Brownish wings with dark spots
- Light underparts
The Plain-breasted Ground-Dove is a new species to our Photographic Life List,which now stands at 878.
