COUCH'S KINGBIRD, HOTEL MAYALAND,CHICHEN ITZA,MEXICO, 11/3/2018

         We can ID this Tyrant Flycatcher as Couch's Kingbird as follows:
  • Couch's Kingbird is almost identical to the Tropical Kingbird.  The best way to distinguish them is by their voice.  We were able to determine this was Couch's Kingbird by it's call: "pik"
  • Gray head
  • Greenish back
  • Brownish wings and tail
  • Pale throat contrasting with darker breast
  • Yellow belly.

    Couch's Kingbird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 807.
