FEMALE AUSTRALIAN KING PARROT, LORNE, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this parrot as a female Australian King Parrot by its large size, long tail, green head, breast, tail and upperparts; red underparts and very small pale shoulder patch.

   The Australian King Parrot is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 641.

FEMALE AUSTRALIAN KING PARROT,

GREY SHRIKE-THRUSH, AIREYS INLET, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Grey Shrike-thrush by its mostly grey color, brown back, pale grey-white cheeks, white eye-ring and faintly striped throat (can just make this out if you look closely).

   The Grey Shrike-thrush is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 640.

WHITE-BACKED AUSTRALIAN MAGPIE, AIREYS INLET, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   There are two forms of the Australian Magpie-the white-backed form and the black-backed form.  This is the white-backed form.

RUFOUS BRISTLEBIRD, AIREYS INLET, VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Rufous Bristlebird by its reddish-brown color, long tail, rufous crown and ear coverts and scalloped  grey- brown neck and breast. 

   The Rufous Bristlebird is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 639.
