LAUGHING KOOKABURRA, JACOB'S LADDER, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Laughing Kookaburra by its large size, white head, dark patch behind dark eye, mostly dark brown upperparts, white underparts  and barred rufous and black tail.
   The Laughing Kookaburra isa new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 605.




GRASS TREE, MRS MACQUARIE'S POINT, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

   The Grass Tree is endemic to Australia  and comprises of about 30 different species.   It is the oldest living tree.  It grows very slowly.  Our guide estimated that this Grass Tree was 300-400 years old.




AUSTRALIAN MAGPIE MRS MACQUARIE'S POINT, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

   We can ID this bird as a Australian Magpie by its white nape, white patch on wing, bluish white bill with black tip, white under tail and black elsewhere. 
   The Australian Magpie is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 604.

   We just thought was an interesting sign.

AUSTRALIAN WHITE IBIS, HYDE PARK, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA

  We can ID this Ibis as an Australian White Ibis by its white color, black head and neck and black plumes and feathers near the tail.
   The Australian White Ibis is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 603.
