MASKED SHINING PARROT, NAUSORI HIGHLANDS, VITI LEVU, FIJI
We can ID this parrot as Masked Shining Parrot by its large size, blackish head, long tail, bright green color with orange-yellow breast and belly and orange eyes. This parrot is endemic to the island of Viti Levu in Fiji.
The Masked Shining Parrot is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 596.
BARKING IMPERIAL PIGEON, NAUSORI HIGHLANDS, VITI LEVU, FIJI
We can ID this pigeon as a Barking Imperial Pigeon ( also known as Peale's Imperial Pigeon) by its bluish-gray upperparts and dark underparts and tail. This pigeon is endemic to Fiji.
The Barking Imperial Pigeon is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 595.

FIRE WALKING CEREMONY, WESTIN DENARAU RESORT, NADI, FIJI
The highlight of the Lovo Cultural Show was the Fire Walking Ceremony. The Fire Walking Ceremony is an old tradition in Fiji. The men walk on hot rocks. In the first 10 photos the bed of rocks is being prepared for the ceremony. The photos after that show the men walking on the hot rocks.
