JUVENILE FORK-TAILED FLYCATCHER, ARENA FOREST PRESERVE, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a juvenile Fork-tailed Flycatcher by its black head, dark upperparts, white underparts and long forked tail (but not as long as the adult).
   The Fork-tailed Flycatcher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 567.




BAT FALCON, ARENA FOREST PRESERVE, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this raptor as a Bat Falcon by its generally black color, whitish throat and upper breast and chestnut undertail coverts and thighs.
   The Bat Falcon is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 566. 



GREEN-RUMPED PARROTLETS, ARIPO SAVANNA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID these parrots as Green-rumped Parrotlets by  their very small size, generally bright green color, very short tail and pale pinkish bill.
   The Green-rumped Parrotlet is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 565.




YELLOW-BELLIED ELAENIA, ROAD TO ARENA FOREST, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this bird as a Yellow-bellied Elaenia by its prominent crest, grayish head and upperparts, two white wing bars, whitish throat and yellowish wash on underparts. 
   The Yellow-bellied Elaenia is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 564.
