WHITE-LINED TANAGERS, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   The first three photos are of a male White-lined Tanager  and the last two of a female.   We can ID the male White-lined Tanager by its glossy black color, small white patch on the wings and bill with a darker upper mandible and a lower mandible whitish at the base.  The female is entirely rufous in color.

   The White-lined Tanager is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 527.

MALE WHITE-NECKED JACOBINS AT FEEDERS & ON BRANCH, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   We can ID this hummingbird as a male White-necked Jacobin by its dark blue head and breast, broad white band on nape, rest of upperparts green, lower underparts white and white tail tipped in black. 

   The White-necked Jacobin is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 526.

   The first four photos are of male Green Honeycreepers and the last photo is of a female. 

PURPLE HONEYCREEPERS AT FEEDERS, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   The first two photos show the male Purple Honeycreeper.   In the next two photos the male Purple Honeycreeper is on the left and the female on the right.  Also, in the second photo you can see a Bananaquit at the back of the feeder. 

   We can ID the male Purple Honeycreeper by its violet blue color; black strongly downcurved bill; black lores, throat, wings and tail and bright yellow legs.

   We can ID the female Purple Honeycreeper by its green streaked underparts, green legs, pale chestnut lores and throat and blue moustachial streak.

   The Purple Honeycreeper is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 525.
