FEMALE VIOLET-BACKED STARLING, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this starling as a female Violet-backed Starling by its relatively short bill and brown coloration above and  white below, both streaked.
   The Violet-backed Starling is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 389.

BROWN-HOODED KINGFISHER, IMBABALA ZAMBEZI SAFARI LODGE, ZIMBABWE, 11/7/16

   We can ID these kngfishers as Brown-hooded Kingfishers by their red bills, cinnamon underparts, blue on wings and rufous patches on sides of breast (you can see this in the lower bird).
   The Brown-hooded Kingfisher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 388.

SOUTHERN RED-BILLED HORNBILL, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

   We can ID this bird as a Southern Red-billed Hornbill by its downturned red bill, white spotted wing coverts, yellow eyes and white neck with dark spots.
   The Southern Red-billed Hornbill is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 387.

   We can ID this bird as a Red-billed Spurfowl by its overall grayish color and reddish legs and bill,

TROPICAL BOUBOU, IMBABALA PRIVATE CONCESSION, ZIMBABWE

      We can ID this bird as a Tropical Boubou by its black upperparts, pinkish underparts and long white wingbar.
   The Tropical Boubou is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 385.
