JUVENILE BLACKPOLL WARBLER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT BIRD OBSERVATORY, MILFORD, ON

   You can see the band in the last two photos.  We can ID this warbler as a juvenile Blackpoll Warbler by its greenish head and upperparts, grayish sides of neck (see last photo), whitish undertail coverts (see first photo) and narrow dark eye-line.

BANDED BLACK-CAPPED CHICKADEE, PRINCE EDWARD POINT BIRD OBSERVATORY, MILFORD, ON

   This Black-capped Chickadee wa already banded when caught in the mist net.  It had been previously banded at the observatory.

GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   We can ID this bird as a Great Crested Flycatcher by its gray breast, bright yellow belly and rufous color on wings and tail.

MUD NESTS OF CLIFF SWALLOWS AT LIGHTHOUSE, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NATIONAL WILDLIFE AREA, MILFORD, ON

   The Cliff Swallows have migrated, but their mud nests are still at the lighthouse, hopefully to be reused next year.
