MONTEZUMA OROPENDOLA, ROAD:SANTA ROSA NP TO CURUBANDA LODGE, GUANACASTE, COSTA RICA
We can ID this bird as a Montezuma Oropendula as follows:
- Two-tone bill: black towards base and red towards tip.
- Long, bright yellow tail.
- Colorful facial markings: pale blue area on cheek and orange area under cheek.
The Montezuma Oropendola is a new species to our Life List, which stands at 292.
