MILITARY MACAW, PORT OASIS ECO PARK, CRUISE PORT, CARTAGENA, COLUMBIA, 12/7/2023 - NEW LIFE SPECIES

   We can ID this macaw as a Military Macaw as follows:
  • Mostly green with blue flight feathers.
  • Bright red patch on forehead.
  • Face is white and pinkish in color with black striations and red dots.
  • Large, strong, gray bill.
  • Tail is blue and red above.
   The Military Macaw is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List. Our ebird Life List now stands at 1,086.



 

CHESTNUT-FRONTED MACAW, PORT OASIS ECO PARK, CRUISE PORT, CARTAGENA, COLUMBIA, 12/7/2023 - SPECIES STATUS ON EBIRD LIFE LIST CHANGED FROM PROVISIONAL TO NATIVE/NATIRALIZED

      The Chestnut-fronted Macaw has been on our ebird Life List as a provisional since 12/19/2020 when it was sighted and photographed at Brewer Park in S. Miami, Florida.  It has now been upgraded to Native/Naturalized since it was seen and photographed on 12/7/2023 in Cartagena, Columbia.

   The Blue-and-Yellow Macaw has been on our ebird Life List as a provisional since 1/31/2022 when it was sighted and photographed at Brewer Park in S. Miami, Florida.  It has now been upgraded to Native/Naturalized since it was seen and photographed on 12/7/2023 in Cartagena, Columbia.
