FORAGING WESTERN CATTLE EGRET, LELY RESORT ALONG U.S. 41, 10/27/2023

   The Cattle Egret has been split into two species: the Western Cattle Egret and the Eastern Cattle Egret. This Cattle Egret is a Western Cattle Egret.  The split of the Cattle Egret into two species increases our ebird Life List to 1,082.






 

MALLARD, MOTTLED DUCKS, DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT & ROSEATE SPOONBILL, LELY RESORT ALONG U.S. 41, 10/27/2023

The male Mallard is the second duck from left, in between the two Mottle Duck.  The Double-crested Cormorant is on the lower right of the photo and the Roseate Spoonbill is on the upper right.

   The Little Blue Heron is the smaller blue bird in front of the Double-crested Cormorants.
