LEAST FLYCATCHER, PRINCE EDWARD POINT NWA,MILFORD,ON, 5/18/2019

We can ID this Epidomax Flycatcher as a Least Flycatcher as follows:
  • Bold, thick, white eyerings, slightly thicker in back of eye.  This eyering differentiates the Least Flycatcher from other Epidomax Flycatchers.  The Epidomax Flycatchers whose range overlaps with the Least Flycatcher are: Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Arcadian Flycatcher, Willow Flycatcher and Alder Flycatcher.
  • Whitish throat.  This differentiates the Least Flycatcher from the similar Yellow-bellied Flycatcher.
  • Greyish-olive upperparts.  This differentiates the Least Flycatcher from the Arcadian Flycatcher, which is more greenish above.
  • Whitish underparts.
  • Nape is more grayish then rest of upperparts.  This differentiates the Least Flycatcher from other Epidomax Flycatchers whose range overlaps.
  • Two white wingbars.

The Least Flycatcher is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 852.
