      We can ID this bird as a Tody Motmot as follows:
  • Small size - the Tody Motmot is the smallest motmot
  • Short, wedge-shaped tail -  it does not have the racket tail of other motmots
  • Rufous cap
  • Whitish whisker marks
  • Black mask through eyes, bordered below by conspicuous whitish stripe
  • Dull brown underparts
      The Tody Motmot is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 831.
