WHITE-CHESTED EMERALD, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   The first four photos show a White-chested Emerald hummingbird.  In the last photo the White-chested Emerald is on the right and a White-necked Jacobin is on the left. 
   We can ID this hummingbird as a White-chested Emerald by its green upperparts, glossed with bronze, especially on the rump and tail; white underparts with sides green (or white spotted with green) and fairly long straight dark bill.
   The White-chested Emerald is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 528.







WHITE-LINED TANAGERS, ASA WRIGHT NATURE CENTRE, ARIMA, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

   The first three photos are of a male White-lined Tanager  and the last two of a female.   We can ID the male White-lined Tanager by its glossy black color, small white patch on the wings and bill with a darker upper mandible and a lower mandible whitish at the base.  The female is entirely rufous in color.
   The White-lined Tanager is a new species to our Photographic Life List, which now stands at 527.
