MALE LESSER NIGHTHAWK ROOSTING AT REST, PLANETARIO CH'AN KA'AN DE COZUMEL, COZUMEL, MEXICO, 6/23/2025 - NEW SPECIES TO LIFE LIST

   We can ID this nightjar as a male Lesser Nighthawk as follows:
  • Small size
  • Looks full bodied with small, flat head and tiny bill.
  • Mottled gray, black and white plumage.
  • White stripe along front of throat.
  • White stripe (white in males and cream in females) along edge of wing.
   The Lesser Nighthawk is a new species to our ebird Photographic Life List.
